Immunogen	Synthetic peptide corresponding to the amino acids 1-29 of the Human GnRH receptor extracellular domain conjugated to BSA. Splenocytes were fused with SP2/0 mouse myeloma cells. Stability was established by subcloning four times.
Specificity	This Monoclonal antibody A9E4 reacts with GnRH receptors in the anterior pituitary. A9E4 showed specificity for the synthetic peptide in ELISA and Dot blot, it has a higher affinity for the antigen than the GnRH receptor antibody clone F1G4 (Cat.-No. AM32064PU-N). A9E4 specifically stains human GnRH receptors on frozen tissue of the anterior pituitary. Recognition was supported by Western blotting.

Background	Gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor is a protein of 54-60 kDa. GnRH receptor contains seven hydrophobic transmembrane domains connected by hydrophilic extracellular and intracellular loops characteristic of G-protein coupled receptors. GnRH stimulates the gonadotrophs of the anterior pituitary to secrete luteinizing hormone (LH) as well as follicle-stimulated hormone (FSH). The receptor contains of seven hydrophobic transmembrane domains connected by hydrophillic extracellular, and intracellular loops characteristic of G-protein coupled receptors.
