Formulation	Each vial contains enough antiserum for 500 RIA tubes. The powder should be rehydrated with 50ml RIA buffer. Upon reconstitution to 50ml total volume, the solution contains 0.1M sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.4), 0.05M NaCl, 0.1% BSA, 0.01% NaN3, and 0.1% Triton X-100. Store at 4°C. This should ensure antibody stability for approximately one month.

Background	Insulin-like Growth Factor I (IGF-I), also known as Somatomedin C, is a hormone similar to insulin. It is produced primarily by the liver as an endocrine hormone, which effects a wide range of cells and plays a key role in cell proliferation and growth. IGF- I is also linked with tumor cell growth, due to its inhibitory effect on apoptosis. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with IGF-I coupled to a carrier protein.
