Product Components The ORF clone is ion-exchange column purified and shipped in a 2D barcoded Matrix tube containing 10ug of transfection-ready, dried plasmid DNA (reconstitute with 100 ul of water).
Reconstitution 1. Centrifuge at 5,000xg for 5min.
2. Carefully open the tube and add 100ul of sterile water to dissolve the DNA.
3. Close the tube and incubate for 10 minutes at room temperature.
4. Briefly vortex the tube and then do a quick spin (less than 5000xg) to concentrate the liquid at the bottom.
5. Store the suspended plasmid at -20°C. The DNA is stable for at least one year from date of shipping when stored at -20°C.
Note Plasmids are not sterile.  For experiments where strict sterility is required, filtration with 0.22um filter is required.

Gene Summary Monoglycylase which modifies both tubulin and non-tubulin proteins, generating side chains of glycine on the gamma-carboxyl groups of specific glutamate residues of target proteins. Monoglycylates tubulin, with a preference for alpha-tubulin toward beta-tubulin. Has the ability to modify non-tubulin proteins such as ANP32A, ANP32B, SET and NCL. Involved in the side-chain initiation step of the glycylation reaction by adding a single glycine chain to generate monoglycine side chains. Not involved in elongation step of the polyglycylation reaction.[UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Function]
Transcript Variant: This variant (1) encodes the longer isoform (1). CCDS Note: The coding region has been updated to extend the N-terminus to an upstream in-frame start codon. The uAUG appears to be restricted to rat and mouse, and has a weak Kozak signal compared to a strong one for the better conserved downstream AUG, which raises the possibility of the dAUG being use due to leaky scanning. The update changes the protein length from 781 aa to 832 aa, but the splice sites are unaffected.
