Protein Description	Recombinant Human ANG-2 is a C-terminal Histidine tagged glycoprotein which migrates with an apparent molecular mass of 60 – 70 kDa by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Sequencing analysis shows an N-terminal sequence starting with residue 68 (D) of the ANG-2 precursor protein.
Storage	Store lyophilized at 2-8°C for 6 months or at -20°C long term. After reconstitution store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C long term. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Stability	Shelf life: one year from despatch.
Bioactivity	Biological: Determined by its ability to stimulate tubulogenesis in HUVEC cells using a concentration of 0.2μg/ml.

Summary	This gene belongs to the angiopoietin family of growth factors. The protein encoded by this gene is an antagonist of angiopoietin 1, and both angiopoietin 1 and angiopoietin 2 are ligands for the endothelial TEK receptor tyrosine kinase. Angiopoietin 2 is upregulated in multiple inflammatory diseases and is implicated in the direct control of inflammation-related signaling pathways. The encoded protein affects angiogenesis during embryogenesis and tumorigenesis, disrupts the vascular remodeling ability of angiopoietin 1, and may induce endothelial cell apoptosis.
