Summary	Megalin/LRP-2 is a large type 1 transmembrance cell surface protein. This protein is a glycoprotein that is a multi-ligand endocytic receptor primarily expressed in absorptive epithelial tissues (e.g. the kidney). The Megalin protein is very important in the reuptake of multiple ligands and also plays a role in cell signaling.
